Syngenta is now seeking over 1000 farmers to each establish at least one hectare of Operation Bumblebee habitat. Farmers will be selected to join with the aim of creating a patchwork of Operation Bumblebee habitat across arable areas, focused on key zones to protect and encourage the rarest bumblebee species. Operation Bumblebee members will receive bespoke training in techniques for habitat creation, along with regular in-season advice updates and a technical helpline to provide practical advice. Growers unsuccessful in joining the project now will still receive up to date information, and will be given priority to get involved with the future expansion of Operation Bumblebee.
